Freemed-YiRC: Keyboard shortcuts/hotkeys

Contents

Summary

Starting with Freemed-YiRC V1.20, users can now use keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) to quickly navigate to certain parts of Freemed-YiRC!

Enabling Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts must be enabled per user. This can be done for any given user by clicking on the My Preferences link at the bottom of a users main menu and changing the value of the setting keyboard_shortcuts to Enabled.

Internet Explorer Users

Users of the Internet Explorer web browser may notice an issue when using certain keyboard shortcuts that are available in both Freemed-YiRC and Internet Explorer. For example, ALT-E will take you directly to the Freemed-YiRC E-Mail module, but it will also cause the Edit menu to drop down in Internet Explorer. No workaround for this has yet been developed. A user may simply press the escape key, or simply click somewhere to make the Internet Explorer drop-down close.
